Loved this - and ashamed that I've never tried eating tomato leaves. On the list for this year.

One of my favourite home grown treats is radish leaves - stir fried in olive oil with a little garlic and a squeeze of lemon, they are delicious!

Also: belated Happy Birthday!

This was a great read and a happy birthday to you! I have learnt something new about eating young rhubarb flower buds! I also grew scarlet runner beans in the summer passed and the flowers are so beautiful and vibrant.

Thanks, Nareen! Tell me how/where you grew your runner beans. Did you use poles or a teepee? Or maybe a grid panel? I'm waffling this year, because I don't have a bed for them in the market garden, where I would normally have small teepees in a row, with pickling cucumbers at their feet.

Yes Tania I just used a trellis which is like a teepee structure so they can climb. You can easily get a piece of mesh and support with some poles / stakes for a temporary structure. Some people grow beans on other plants such as corn!

I can’t believe I never eat carrot tops! I’ll definitely start using them. So great that you made it into the movie. Fun! Thank you for the shout out! I’ve been falling behind too on my post got the post couple of weeks. (Actual gardening has commandeered my available time.)

Great post and great tip about the rhubarb buds! I'll try it out this year. Do you let all your rhubarb go to flower or cut the flowering stem? I let them grow out for the insects.

I try not to let it go to flower, but it happens nonetheless, and I have never noticed a difference in plant vigor. To be honest, I hadn't thought of insects on rhubarb flowers before.

Quite an assortment of them seem to like the rhubarb flowers in my garden.
