Fantastic article, really well researched and covers so much. That seed fair looks fantastic and a lot like our annual Reclaim the seeds festival in the Netherlands. A few years ago Ache Noah and Kokopelli used to have stalls there too but now sadly it's no longer as Europe wide as it once was.

That's a shame! I wonder why Kokopelli and Arche Noah have stopped coming. Is there a similar non-profit in the Netherlands?

Sorry missed this. Yes, we have similar non-profits and many smaller for-profit seed saving companies participating each year. It could have been a matter of funding.

Excellent article - and I never knew that Kokopelli had had to fight a legal battle, what a sad situation but so glad they can keep selling their wonderful selection of seeds.

I enjoyed this article, especially the point about establishing a focus or principles for your practice. I do something similar when choosing what food or ornamental plants to grow in my space.

Thanks, Susan! Yes, there are some real treasures here. 'Forellenschluss' is a speckled romaine lettuce they rediscovered here in Austria, and I think it is available under the name 'Speckled Trout' now in the UK and US.
