I love this article, so interesting this family of Allium - I am also trying to sow some of this ( Allium altaicum, Allium tuberosum, Allium fistulosum etc ) and I'm looking forward!

Such a brilliant deep dive and much valuable info so generously shared. Great tip about deep planting leeks. Do you not trim leeks when transplanting? Everyone seems to do it. I want a save feature here as I will absolutely be referring to this post again!

Glad you liked it, Suzanne! No need to trim leeks. I discovered the save function by accident. It's in the lower right corner of the preview in the notes, if that makes sense.

I saved this article to read when I have nothing else pressing so I can thoroughly enjoy. I love walking onions but what caught my eye was garlic chive capers..I can't wait to see what you do there. I have tons of garlic chives. I let them self seed all over the place and capers sound so yummy. Thank you!

This is a great article. Such a fabulous resource for kitchen gardeners. I love the tip to dig really deep holes to avoid hilling up around leeks. Brilliant.
